I know, I know, Cap: Reborn 6 hasn't come out yet, but I own the book so I had to read it.

*SPOILER WARNING*

I CAN'T FUCKING BELIEVE THEY BROUGHT STEVE BACK JUST TO HAVE HIM HANG UP HIS BOOTS.

Stupid ass bullshit. Fuck Marvel, fuck it in the ass. They should really take lessons from DC on how to do comics. Matt Fraction and Andy Diggle are the only things they have going for them. I'd say Warren Ellis, but his work on Astonishing X-Men has been pretty assy lately.

The Kick Ass movie is going to be fucking garbage. What an awful book. At least they're taking a break from ruining good properties. Can't wait to see fucking Ryan Reynolds play Hal Jordan. Blurgh. Who's going to play Sinestro, Willem Dafoe? Fuck. Thank you Magda for being such a great friend and I really hope you enjoy your gifts dear. I hope everyone is having a great time with those you love. Anyway, enough of that. 2009 was a pretty okay year. A lot of good stuff and a lot of bad stuff happened, no need to delve further than that, if you're close to me I'm sure you've heard enough about it all. The highlights of my year? The Goat. I've never had so many good times at a place of business since the Danger Room. Seriously, that Hallowe'en eve night was the most ridiculous night of my life. Blackest Night has been awesome, DC is really flexing their muscles here bringing back some pretty huge characters as villians. The only thing I haven't been stoked on is the death of Kyle Rayner and his subsequent rebirth a month later. Guy Gardner as a red lantern has been cool too, I just hope that sticks for a while.

I think my new years resolution will be to blog more.

Works suuuucks

Yeah, it's true. So far it's a stupid piece of shit and I hate it. Once I have it figured out and it stops making my username and contact list disappear I'm sure I'll be more into it. I don't recommend it at this point as it's fairly unclear as to what the fuck it's trying to accomplish. It's like a bad message board mixed with the Gmail account you haven't checked in three years. That being said, I do have five invites left, if you want one just post a comment on here with your GMAIL address. From Thursday til Sunday it was the Magic World Championships in Rome and on Sunday it was the division finals in the CFL with the Riders besting Calgary for the fourth time this season.

Really not much to say again, Andre Coimbra of Portugal won MTG's Worlds on Sunday running a variation of Flores' Naya Lightsaber deck, most of my readers will have no idea what this means, but I don't care, I think this rules. It was nice to see Jund lose 3-0 in the final, I hate netdecks of it's ilk more than anything. Team China won the team portion of the event. Three countries were disqualified from the team competition before those rounds even began when players were caught violating the rules, these countries were Turkey, the USA and Canada. In fact, two of three members of team Canada were DQ'd for the same reason. It's not my job to say they cheated or didn't cheat as I wasn't there and the DCI is generally pretty fair about these things, but there is zero room for error on both the judges and players side of things when this comes up. Anyway, played in another extended tournament the other day, I came in second finishing with a match record of 2-1. The deck that came in first was one I designed based on running cheap Cascade spells and Restore Balance. It tested well online last season beating TEPS, Faeries and Next Level Blue handily and was about 60-40 against Zoo variants. Thursday night is a Zendikar only constructed tournament, I will probably play BG Rock or something along those lines, in that environment Ob Nixilis and Lotus Cobra are too good not to play together. After that is standard on Friday and I have found two suitable lists, one is tuned to beat things like Jund and Vampires and post-board can beat the faster Boros deck, so I'll run that one I think.

This looks fucking awesome, I can't wait;

I'm fucking terrible at blogging.

I've been doing interesting things lately, I just haven't been updating my blog. Expect an update tomorrow night, if I forget I owe all of you a beer on your birthdays. Kyle Rayner died last week, that's kinda big news, I think. I missed his era in the spotlight in Green Lantern as I started reading during the Sinestro Corps War, where he was possessed by Parallax, but this is still pretty huge as he was supposed to be the 'last' Green Lantern. Interested in seeing how long this will last if this is the case. I also re-read Punisher MAX No. 1 and it is actually really good. My faith in Jason Aaron/Steve Dillon remains intact.

How did you spend your Remembrance Day? I played Modern Warfare 2 and slept off a brutal night of whiskey and Scattergories/Jenga.

The first issue of Jason Aaron new Punisher MAX series came out today. I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little disappointed, which is too bad as I'm a huge fan of both Aaron and Steve Dillon. Something about it just made it seem too slow. It's only the first issue so hopefully things will pick up. This is all I'm writing for tonight, but maybe tomorrow or Friday I'll edit this and talk about the new issue of GLC or the Blackest Night specials that have come out over the last couple weeks. I'd just like to say that Doom Patrol is a fucking great book and you should really be buying it. Comics have been fairly boring. My Magic playing has been shitty at best(outside of Extended, apparently). Unfortunately there isn't much interesting coming out this week either. Hopefully Thunderbolts will be good, I miss that book being good, it's been such a long time it seems. It seems like just yesterday Atlas died using his body to plug a tear in the fabric of reality. Blackest Night: Superman concludes this week, or should I say, 'Blackest Night: Superman leaves us with a cliffhanger leading into the culmination of all these minis you've been buying'. Ever hopeful, I have a feeling it will be good. I'm just glad that Superboy is back and not being as huge a pussy as before his 'death'. Enough about these fucking comics.

I played in my first sanctioned Extended event on Sunday afternoon. Extended is the more popular of Magic's three older formats, allowing the use of almost any card printed in the last six years. My deck decided to work in almost every game and I finished with a match record of 4-0 while losing only two games over the course of the day. Pretty good for my first time. The deck in question is the relatively new Hypergenesis/Cascade combo. I only had the combo backfire once and that is only because I kept a bad hand. Anyway, it's Legacy on Thursday and I have no idea what I'll play. Part of me wants to play Combo Elves and yet another part is pulling me toward something with Counterbalance/Top. Regardless of what I play Thursday in Legacy, I do still need to get my deck built for Standard on Friday night.

Anyway, that's it for tonight. You should watch Observe And Report. It really is a great movie, despite what you may have heard.

After not reading Daredevil for about 18 months, I read issue 501 today. I have no reason for not reading them, I just sort of lost interest and stopped reading them after buying them. But 501 is pretty awesome and is making me consider actually going back and reading all my back issues. I probably won't, but it would be cool if I were to do so. Matt Murdock is somehow the leader of the Hand, mystical ninja cabal. Batman and Robin issue 4 came out today. This book is too fucking good. I wish it were an ongoing. Tan's art was pretty good, but I'm still a huge Quitely fan and Philip Tan is no Frank Quitely. Regardless, Morrison is assembling what appears to be a huge story spanning generations of the Batfamily and I'm stoked to be able to read it monthly.

The new Ruiner LP is so good. I cannot wait to see this band again. Buy it buy it buy it.

Zombieland.

Jesus carp. This movie was awesome. You need to see it. I hate this zombie walk fruity shit, but this movie was great. Even ask my man Donovan, he seemed to enjoy it and he hates almost as much stuff as I do. Watch it ASAP. I even waited in line because we showed up early and I wasn't even mad about doing so.

Last Days of Animal Man is a comic book. It's a comic book about Animal Man. Animal Man rules. When this series started, I wasn't so sure how I felt about it. The villians are kind of lame and 90's, but this book is definitely turning out really cool. Buddy Baker is pretty awesome, even for a judgmental vegan.

I've almost got everything I need from the new Magic set. I guess money can buy happiness.

Tomorrow afternoon it's the release event for Zendikar and then after that it's Thanksgiving dinner at my dad's with Magda.

Fargo was great. Being detained at the border for 1.5-ish hours on the way there wasn't. Getting a flat tire and blowing out the donut outside of Melita, MB was also not fun. Hanging out with two of my favorite people for three-ish days was. Magda and Al are the two most awesome people in my life.

New Rae still rules.

Not having a mustache is kind of freeing, why do I keep doing that to myself?

Go see Zombieland. Man, I love Bane. I've never heard Foundation, but if they're touring with Bane, they're either really good, or really bad. Either way, I'm stoked. I haven't been to the US since I went to Minneapolis in tenth grade.

The new Raekwon album is so good. So good. So damn good. Every song is great, the only one I find skip-able is We Will Rob You. I just hate Slick Rick. Fucking pirate.

Old Man Logan is finally done. The Hulk is dead and Wolverine is setting out with the Hulk's latest kid to try to set the world right. Right. Can't wait for all the spin offs. Ugh. I hate you Marvel. This will be the new Earth X, just that Earth X was pretty awesome from start to finish. Sure, Universe was kind of goofy and Paradise was just dumb and unfinished, but Earth was great. Superman: Secret Origin was on fucking point, as one would expect from a Johns/Frank outing. Well worth the wait, I hope this book is as good as everything they've worked on together in the past.

NHL 10 is great. Not much to say there, just that EA did it again. I think you should as well. Looks like Seigel's descendants set a precedent when they tried to get the rights to the Superman character. On one hand, I know that creators like Kirby were ripped off and made very little money compared to their employers, but they're dead. These are just their greedy children/grandchildren/whatever trying to make money they didn't earn. It's bullshit and there is no legitimate reason at this point that Marvel/DC should be giving up some of their top characters to these pricks.

Comics and other stuff. Really?

Got my shit figured out, I'm a blogging genius.

BLACKEST NIGHT 3. WOW. Just WOW. I love this series so much. Finally getting to see the Indigo Tribe in action was awesome. Stoked on the flavor of these dudes and dudettes. I always hated Ralph and Sue and especially as zombies. What a great book, just excellent, definitely not DC Zombies. I also think more people should read Greek Street. If you like other weird Vertigo books you can't go wrong with this one. And there are only two or three issues out as of my typing this. So check it out! And it's only 2.99, which is cheap these days! I think I still like the new Marvel Zombies mini, I just wish Hank Pym wasn't so lame. Can no one write a cool or at least interesting version of this character? I guess that will happen to wife beater/eaters.

There is a Legacy tournament at Comic Readers on Sunday. I'm stoked. Unfortunately, no one in my playgroup has Counterbalances to trade or lend so I'll have to homebrew up some UW garbage. I still have no clue what I'm going to play in Standard come October. Hopefully something using Baneslayer Angel and Lotus Cobra.

Luke and I bought Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 this week. This game is amazing. We didn't pre-order so we'll have to wait to play as Juggernaut. Oh well, dude sucks anyway. Iron Fist is ridiculous, for that reason alone I dread having to play Pro-Registration, who get the amazing exclusives of SONGBIRD and MISTER FANTASTIC. Picture me vomitting and shitting at the same time. That's about right. Whereas, if you go Anti-Registration you get Iron Fist and Power Man. The fucking Heroes for Fucking Hire. So you can get some broad that makes constructs out of 'hard sound' and a guy whose power is that he can stretch really, really far OR you can get IRON FIST AND POWER MAN. Shit, it's like Wal-Mart brand cola versus the real deal Coca Cola. NO CONTEST. I really wish DC would do something like this outside of that Justice League game from a few years ago. I think it would be way cooler to play as Green Lantern and Batman instead of Captain America and Iron Man. Regardless, enough complaining. Beating the hell out of Wonderman, War Machine and Black Widow was awesome.

THIS IS FOR BEING SUCH A SHITTY FUCKING CHARACTER!

SHITTY CHARACTER!
WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK IS HE? Sunday was fun. Can't wait to play Legacy this weekend and then finally unveil my Vintage POS. Zendikar is going to be great, hopefully WOTC will get their shit together, distribution-wise. Anyway, I don't have much time to update today, so here's my best effort.

Just had a four day weekend. Didn't really do anything, on Friday I bought Madworld for the Wii, such a fun game, totally worth thirty bucks. Friday was the first time I've actually played Wii since April, it would be nice if Nintendo would release some games not aimed at non-gamers. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 comes out tomorrow, I didn't pre-order so hopefully I can get a copy, not too concerned about not being able to play as Juggernaut, he was pretty lame in the second X-Men game, eat a dick Brett. Played Earthbound for a few hours on Saturday, I fucking love that game so much, you have NO idea.

Not much to say about comics this time, Wednesday Comics is still sweet, New Krypton or whatever they're calling the arc is pretty great right now. Blackest Night is still the best thing ever until the next big event.

Toodles. SUUUURE.

So I took Thursday and Friday off this week for no good reason aside from not wanting to work. I enjoy my job, just not when there is nothing to do. I did very little today, played some Magic and Left 4 Dead, picked up my comics for the week. Blackest Night: Batman is awesome, it's great to see the Bat-trifecta together. I have also realized I still really like Modern Life Is War, it's too bad I only got to see them once. Went to dinner at Skara tonight because the Goat was filled to the brim. Very pricey, but pretty good, place was virtually empty, weird for this town on a Thursday. Anyway, on to comics.

DC Comics is now DC Entertainment. What does this mean? Paul Levitz is no longer president and Geoff Johns is no longer writing Adventure Comics. That was quick and kind of a bummer. Hopefully Levitz won't pull a Claremont and write super shittily after returning to writing after going so long not writing. Hopefully Manapul will be put onto another title I will read, he is too good at what he does to not always have a job. Will I keep reading Adventure? Hopefully. But remember, this isn't in reaction to Marvel being bought by Disney. *wink*

Ultimate Avengers sucks. Two issues and nothing has happened. OH MY GOD CAPTAIN AMERICA HAS A KID AND HE'S CRAAAAAZY. CRAZY ABOUT AMERICA! No wait, sorry, that's a typo, he's just crazy. Apparenlty Ultimate Red Skull is Cap's kid. Yeah. Okay. Thanks for making the first two issues so poorly I don't have to waste any more money on this crap.

I hope number two of the new Marvel Zombies series is good, I think I will read that right now. I'll update tomorrow with more half-assed reviews. Also, check out my friend Donovan's blog, he's a dick.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://jkapp.blogspot.com/2009/09/holidays-for-no-reason-suuuure.html' title='Holidays for no reason? What the hell is a motion comic? Ohhh, those. These were half-assed and lazy forty years ago when Marvel did it with Spiderman, Ironman and the Incredible Hulk. Now they're still half-assed and based off Astonishing X-Men and Spiderwoman. Astonishing X-Men and Spiderwoman. Spiderwoman. SPIDERWOMAN?! Does anyone actually care about this character? To me, these just come off as Marvel wanting to make a TV series based on less popular arcs/characters without having to spend much money. Maybe they're good, who knows? However doubtful, there is that small chance. Oh wait, more terrible, terrible voice acting.

I'm not sure if I've said anything about Wednesday Comics in here, so just in case I haven't, Wednesday Comics rules. It's well worth the 3.99 price tag. Certainly moreso than the issues of Ultimatum you bought that you'll never read again, or ever if you're like me.

I really, really think you should be reading Blackest Night.

KICK ASS FUCKING SUCKS.

There, glad I could get that off my chest. I tried reading this book when the first couple issues came out, which is probably about a year ago now. I think the series is currently on issue 4. How does Marvel/Millar expect people to follow a book that isn't released even every two months? I fucking hate Joss Whedon, but at least he was able to do Astonishing once every two months. Fuck this terrible shock-factor book, I thought JRJ was better than this. The movie is going to be garbage, I mean really, Nick Cage is in it. Shouldn't that throw up red lights to people? Just more overhyped bullshit, this is worse than putting Obama on the cover of ASM. Speaking of politicians in comics, I did really enjoy Ellis' Black Summer, but really, who didn't?

Are Black Bolt and Vulcan dead? What will happen to the Kree/Shi'Ar now that neither has a suitable leader. Maybe that whiny bitch Ronan will step up and do something other than killing the Supreme Intelligence.

BATMAN AND ROBIN IS SO GOOD. FUCK YOU HOLSTEIN, QUITELY IS GREAT.

Evan Erwin had a post on MTG Salvation showing off enemy colored fetch lands in Zendikar. I think I'm really stoked. Not stoked to buy a playset for 60-80 bucks, but whatever, gotta pay the cost to be the boss.

Planechase is really good, even if I did get hosed having to run the janky five-color Esper poo. And I suck ass at multiplayer.

Excited to play some other formats, Type II is fun, but I hate losing to Faeries and Kithkin. Extended, Legacy and Vintage tournaments this month at Readers.

Not much else to say, I think I'll go watch a movie and do some work on my Cube.

Feelings don't get hurt, they get murdered.

Ohhh god, I love Fury of Five. So bad/good. Thanks again B9 board. A new Marvel Zombies book started today. And for the first time in a long time, I like it, I really like it. Basically, zombie Spidey is thrown back in time to another, another dimension, where it's the sixties again. He loses his cosmic powers somehow and also runs out of webbing, because his body no longer is alive so it can't produce the organic stuff? I guess? Whatever, on to the awesome. In an extreme act of muscle memory, his veins and arteries fly out of his fucking arms and he swings on those. So gross and awesome, I almost puked. Judging solely by seeing Spidey doing this and eating the Sinister Six, this is the best Marvel Zombies yet. That being said, stop after this. For at least a year! I mean really, why isn't this just an on-going? Get Mark Millar to write it so it only comes out once every three months and you're good to go! Or, just stop. One or the other. Millar or die. Those are your options Quesada. Choose carefully. Unfortunately, despite all my tough talk, I'm a comic fan, so I won't boycott your shitty company, even if I really want to. Because Nova and Guardians of The Galaxy are still awesome.

Went for dinner with Magda at Viet Thai. Got the beef pad thai. It was alright, but not as good as the one other time I've had pad thai. IDK! The Wii Sports gauntlet has been thrown down and she will be eating her words Sunday night.

Magic talk. Zendikar is going to be great, re-printing Harrow is such a good idea, especially with a mechanic like Landfall. It's not stupid like Cascade was this past season, but it will be competitive, especially with Harrow and Knight of The Reliquary beating ass. My Cube is getting absurd, there's some cards that could stand to go, but it's almost what I've been wanting it to be. Cannot wait to get my hands on FTV: Exiled, even though the only card I really, really needed was that foil Berserk. Hopefully my Time Warps get here tomorrow or Friday so I can play that blue/green ramp deck at FNM, getting tired of losing with Cascade.

Freaks and Geeks is still great. Can't get enough. Can someone tell me if Undeclared is worth it?

BBM me son, 31F87813

Finally getting into Freaks and Geeks, only 9 years too late. Apparently Stan Lee is stoked, read more here. Hopefully this can benefit both companies. Only time will tell I suppose. Maybe Disney can stop Marvel from putting out more god awful Marvel Zombies spin-offs.

Oh, fuck me. Seriously? This garbage almost bankrupted you idiots in the fucking nineties. Why on Earth would Joe Q think this is a good idea? Fuck fuck fuck. House of Ideas my ass, more like House of Bad Ideas. Steve Ditko is spinning his grave like a Thriller LP on 45.

Furthermore, Jeph Loeb can suck it too. I liked the Ultimate universe. Now everyone you ever had a reason to care about is dead. Spiderman. Daredevil. Wolverine. Doctor Strange. Cyclops. Xavier. The Wasp. Captain Britian and all the other EU heroes. Almost every other X-Person or Avenger. So stupid and pointless, it needed a reboot, not complete annihilation. Despite all this I read Millar's Ultimate Avengers. It was alright, nothing really happened. I really do like Ultimate Hawkeye. And normal Hawkeye. He's like Green Arrow without the fruity moustache.

Also Marvel is wanting to reboot the F4 movie series, hopefully they can buy back the rights from Fox, if that's possible. If not, just let the fucking series die, those movies were un-fucking-watchable.

Anyway, I wanted to write about video games this time but got distracted by all kinds of comic book related tangents. Play Earthbound. It's summer and that means it's the EBFGP. I did this once and it was alot of fun. I may have to start playing again this week.

I bought Arkham Asylum last week for forty dollars. I play games very slowly so I don't think I'm too far, but so far it's very fun. The combat system is incredibly intuitive.

I think that's it for tonight. Remember to follow me if you have a Google/Gmail account.

This is insane.

I just shit a bird.

http://www.thestar.com/entertainment/movies/article/688735

Best action series. Like most things I try it didn't get off the ground so here it is, fresh from September '08.

Ruiner is the best band and Rob is the best frontman(I hate this word) in hardcore. I'm sure you've listened to them, but if you haven't, please do. They played here last year with Braindead from funky fresh Philly and it was awesome.

http://www.myspace.com/ruiner
http://www.myspace.com/braindeadhxc

Who are you and what do you do?
I am the one they call Rob and I sing

What are your favorite bands at that moment?
Currently I listen to a lot of Alice in Chains. Also Lawrence Arms, Blacklisted and Tear It Up. LA is probably one of my favorite bands hands down.

I've noticed that Ruiner tours a lot, you're in Europe right now, you did Canada during the summer, anything else cool coming up?
We are heading down under to Australia in November. I and everyone else are pretty excited for that. Before that tour we will be doing a 10 day run with FC FIVE from Japan and our friends in Deep Sleep from back in Baltimore.. After both of those tours we really have nothing else planned. Somehow we will be touring around This Is For You this year.. I haven't mapped anything out for that yet.

What do you do when not on tour?
I am a general contractor and occasional bartender. That leaves me the freedom to do whatever I want for the most part. I spend a lot of time trekking between DC and Baltimore to see my girlfriend.

You guys have a new LP coming out, could you tell me about that a little?
Well its pretty much everything that is out of print up until our last LP. We didn't want to re-release the same thing so we went with this collections LP. The limited version of it has a larger booklet which explains the songs and tells some stories. It contains comments from past and present members. Originally we wanted the release to be the larger booklet with the CD. But it became so costly we ended up doing it ourselves in a smaller run for Europe and the release show.

What's the deal with the title? I thought you were all gentlemen of the highest order!
I am not always the most polite person. I tend to not want to talk to anyone unless I am interested in what they have to say. I hate talking about my band at great length and chances are if you see me at a show I am by myself. For some reason this means we are assholes. The whole band tends to keep to ourselves and we don’t usually go out of our way to hang out with people we have just met. We’ve gotten a lot of shit for just keeping to ourselves. Like we are arrogant or something, when really we just don’t like socializing with new people. It’s a lot of things over the years people have had to say about us. I actually read I heard these dudes were assholes on a message board. That’s where the title came from. I could explain some actual events and circumstances but I don’t really give a shit to. If you are nice to us we will repay the favor but everyone has their bad days. Don’t hold it against a band that tours more than half the year to be happy and polite every day. One final note on this question… our humor. We have our own brand of humor and inside jokes. Most people aren’t into it.

Any plans to record a new record in the future?
We have been working on writing new songs between the last couple of tours. The band won't be doing that much in 2009 until later in the year. Hopefully by the summer we will have something out, Fall for sure. I'd like to have 2 releases but I, being the singer and not capable of playing guitar, can't really dictate that.

What are your thoughts on the upcoming presidential election?
My thoughts... well I will be voting for Obama to start the answer of this question. I do not think McCain would give us 4 more years of a Bush run administration. But I also do not think a 70+ year old ex vet is a good idea for our country at this time. We need a new idea, we need some sort of fresh start. It will take any presidential candidate more than a fucking decade to fix the economy in our country but anyone who is supporting the war in Iraq isn't going to do that. Not to mention the idea of having a vice president who is pro-life and a right wing Christian-female, which I have nothing against a woman in the command of our country, but a woman who doesn’t support the rights of woman isn’t a good choice. Also leading a city of 40,000 vs. leading a country of 300 million is a big fucking difference in the event that our very old could be president dies. Obama may be inexperienced but I would prefer to see a person willing to try something different. Joe Biden (Obamas vp) is far more experienced then Obama and I think that will help a lot in aiding the possible president elect. Either way this presidential race is going to be to the wire. Sadly I will be in Australia waiting to hear the final word.

What are your all-time favorite comic books? Marvel or DC?
Superman was my comic of choice when I was a kid. As I got older I read Lady Death, Pitt, discovered the xmen and got heavily into the mini series that involved my favorite villains ie. Sabertooth and Venom. Now a days I am reading Old Man Logan which is a short miniseries inside the wolverine series, also loved the Planet Hulk and most of the World War Hulk stuff. I have been reading this whole red hulk story just because I am bored. Batman has always been a pretty constant read in my life. I tend to favor the darker writers as most do I think. As for Marvel or DC… I have the entire Marvel vs. DC battle and the comics that followed haha. The one from the 80s and the whole thing in the 90s as well. If I had to pick I’d say DC. I also hate the way a lot of Marvel comics are drawn now. The total computer inking process bothers me.

While lurking your 'Space, I noticed you liked Street Fighter II, favorite fighters? Any tips for those of us that suck at the game?
I play Street Fighter or any Capcom fighting game I encounter. If I am bored in my room I am usually playing SF to get my mind off of life. I use Akuma nearly every time I play, he isn’t in 2 though. Thats probably the guy I am best with. If not him Ryu, which is almost the same character. When I was a kid I remember using Guile a lot because of his hair haha. Anyway... I'd say trying to trap your opponent in the corner is a solid tip. Especially while playing any faster character. Flying kick to a trip or the spinning kick if you are any of the karate gee suited characters. That way you have the character trapped to perform a more powerful move after a combo of hits. For SF2 that’s a solid tip I think. Ha! I can’t believe I answered those last 2 questions.

Any plans to come back to western Canada in '09?
Sometime in late 2009 we will begin a very long touring schedule, with the release of our next record. I know every member of the band wants to make it back to western Canada. I am sure this will happen.

Well, that's about it for me, any parting words of wisdom?
I sat here typing really stupid lines over and over trying to think of something funny to end this with. I got nothing…
This interview made my day.

Welp.

I fell for it and started a blog. I couldn't think of a real name so let's go with the title of the best movie ever made. Anyway, if you're reading this you probably know who I am and that is not Jaws 3D, which is really too bad. I plan to 'blog' about things that interest me, be it hardcore, comic books, movies or M:TG.

This morning it was announced that Disney has purchased Marvel Entertainment for four billion dollars. Fortunately, they are not going to try to take over and make Spiderman/Mickey Mouse crossovers(although I'd still rather read that than Brand New Day or a re-telling of the Clone Saga(fuck you 90's). Unfortunately, the movie rights to Spiderman are still belonging to Sony and the movie rights to the X-Men and presumably F4 are still with Fox, so still no good movies for any of the 'big' properties.

Read Blackest Night, this book is seriously the best thing in comics right now. I know I said that about Final Crisis last year, but I was right then and I am now too, goddamnit. This isn't just DC's version of Marvel Zombies. This actually affects continuity of the main U. Back to my point, read this book, read the tie-ins. Last week Superman just punched (Zombie) Earth-2 Superman(the one from Infinite Crisis)'s face off. Also, Conner Kent is an awesome character and I'm glad he's still alive. Also, pick up the first three issues of Batman and Robin, it's Morrison and Quitely doing a Batman story. Imagine All-Star Superman. But instead of Superman and Jimmy Olsen you have Dick Grayson Batman and Damian Wayne Robin. And a flying Batmobile. Shit's awesome.

In Magic news, I still suck at the game after thirteen years, on an off. Got drunk on Friday and bought From The Vault: Exiled and four copies of Time Warp. Looks like I'm building the UG Time Warp ramp monstrosity. May be going to the prerelease of Zendikar in Calgary, but it's unlikely. It would be cool to meet Mons Johnson though.

Miles Davis is great.
